Dr. Alok Kushwaha

Alok Kushwaha, M.D. is a leading expert in acute adult medicine, rehabilitation and wellness medicine.  With over two decades of experience in acute hospital medicine, Dr. Kushwaha has distinguished himself as one of North Texas’s most successful hospitalists.  His newer endeavors focus on preventive and wellness medicine to complement his many years of experience in acute hospital medicine.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Kushwaha completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, after which he relocated to North Carolina where he served as lead hospitalist and medical director for a primary hospital system covering a five-county area.  Dr. Kushwaha later became affiliated with the Duke University Medical School Family Medicine residency training program (SRAHEC) as the faculty attending physician for inpatient rotations.

Dr. Kushwaha was recruited back to the DFW area in 2003 to start a new hospitalist group here. Since returning to the DFW area, he has continued to be active in promoting patient safety and clinical quality initiatives. He has served as a physician quality champion to the Baylor Healthcare System, co-chaired their Healthcare Quality Committee for several years, and helped create, develop, and chair the Mortality Review Committee during which time risk adjusted mortality rates at Baylor Grapevine had fallen 26% from 2009 to 2011.  He is currently Chief of the Department of Medicine at Methodist Southlake hospital.

He is now medical director at Executive Health and Wellness and Elite Medicine Clinics where he seeks to fulfill his vision of promoting health and wellness.
